Website developed by direct descendants of Eamon Rua Mac Sweeney, recognized, 1835, by the great historian Dr. John O Donovan and by "all the O Donnells and the Mac Sweeneys and by every old Millesian from Fanaid to Ballyshannon as Mac Sweeney Doe, Lord of Tua Tory and lineal descendant of Sir Myles/ Maolmhuire Mac Sweeney Chief of Doe, 1596 - 1630".

Aims:
(a) to provide, via the web, definitive information re the history of the Mac Sweeney lordships of Fanad, Doe and Banagh from earliest times to the present day;
(b) to promote and preserve the history of our ancestors, the Mac Sweeney Chiefs of Doe, and the fate of their lineal descendants;
(c) to commemorate events associated with the Mac Sweeney lordships of Donegal and to invite Sweeneys/ Mac Sweeneys, their descendants and colleagues, to join us in unity and friendship;
(d) to persuade the Government Department responsible for the restoration of Doe Castle, the ancient seat of the Mac Sweeney Chiefs of Doe, to complete the restoration fully;
(e) to continue the restoration work we have begun on the graves of our direct ancestors - the Chiefs of Doe - in Doe Castle graveyard;
(f) to discover other lineal "Descendants of Mac Sweeney Doe" in Ireland and overseas.
