We are most grateful that Fergus Gillespie, Chief Herald of Ireland, has given us permission to publish his  "Mac Suibhne na dTuath/ Mac Sweeney Doe" which records the history of Doe from c.1360 to 1835 when the distinguished scholar, Dr. John O Donovan met  our direct ancestor Eamon Rua Mac Swyne, lineal descendant of the Chiefs of Doe.
